Time Flies for Class President Alyssa Arre

With graduation quickly approaching on Friday, June 24, North Branford Patch took some time to get to know the Class of 2011's class president, Alyssa Arre on the seniors' last day of school. She shared her thoughts on the culmination of her high school career, her future plans and advice for upcoming students. (see video). Alyssa will give a speech at graduation.

According to a bio from , Alyssa, the daughter of Geraldine McSherry and Michael Arre, has led the class of 2011 and has accomplished a great deal academically. She was one of six seniors named Yale/New Haven Register Outstanding Students for academic success, community involvement and leadership within the community. 

Alyssa is a Advanced Placement Scholar and received the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence. She is a CAPT Scholar having scored at level 5 for all portions of the test.

Alyssa has participated in a number of clubs and programs at NBHS including the ‘Big Give’, the Interact Club (President), The North Branford Community Round Up, Drama Club (click to see her in action backstage) and FBLA/Helping Hands. She is an accomplished indoor/outdoor track participant who has received First Team and Second Team All-Shoreline Recognition (here's some of her results from this season's and meets).

Alyssa plans on attending The University of Rochester to have a double major, brain and cognitive sciences and ecology/evolutionary biology.
